A photographer who has witnessed a traumatic event travels across the country in search of meaning. During his travels he finds a new relationship with his vision and his personal life.
This novel emerged from the experiences of 5 cross-country driving trips when I was a young man, and the work of trying to understand the world through a camera. The act of seeing, observing and witnessing changes us and this was my attempt at understanding that phenomenon. Sometimes you are the distant observer, but often the very act of looking engages you irretrievably in the lives of others.
