Although only nine-years-old Zak is clearly different.
His classmates call him ‘weird’, even his teachers’ say he is a ‘difficult child’. Only his mother truly loves him. When she is murdered by Eric Blakman, Zak is left alone and orphaned.
The police arrive at the murder scene to find Zak asleep next to the
twitching body of Blakman, who appears to have suffered a brain haemorrhage and dies a few days later.
Detective Johnson, WPC Fletcher and Zak’s long lost Aunt are drawn
together by the murder and each of their lives is turned upside down by Zak’s secret. But can they protect him from Eric’s son, Karl Blakman, a deeply disturbed bully who wants revenge for his father’s death?
