poetry by Mark Young
"There were once two schools of thought about the origins of bricolage, but one fell out of favor. The residue from its subsequent deconstruction allowed the other to strengthen further, & cement its position as the dominant paradigm. Over time, however, its principal set of beliefs—the need for gender-neutral restrooms, & for restaurants with incredible patios, all made from whatever materials were available—became secondary to the process, which was then taken away from its original environment & repositioned in a new subcultural context in which it still exists today."
