We need to train every day. Both our minds and our bodies. Over the years I’ve experimented with various ways of making sure I can keep training in all kinds of places and environments. From hotel rooms to airport gates. Whether I have a small space or a large space. Whether I am by myself or out in public. There’s always a way to train. This is a collection of short quotes from mostly classical works with a short meditation and paired with an overt and a covert training prompt. I have sourced these from Boxing, BJJ, Judo, Sumo, Shuai Jiao, and Iaido. These 12 solo exercises, 6 overt, 6 covert, can benefit anyone who practices just about any martial art. There is a brief description of each in the back. Read and meditate on the quotes. The key though is to train your mind and your body everyday. I hope this small book will help you achieve that.
