“And then I closed my eyes…” is the story of an Iranian photographer living in Canada who, one day, on his way back home from the forest, turns a bend and—at the sudden presence of his mother in the passenger seat—finds himself suspended between a past that is distant yet drawing closer and a present that, as the narrator passes through the streets and hospitals of a strange city, recedes further and further away with every moment.
