A play - of sorts - a poem as well. Like most of Michael McAloran's work, it's hard to decide what to call it, as it not so much defies categorisation as totally ignores it. Haunting and ghostly, vulgar and beautiful.
"If literature traditionally narrates a life, McAloran's fragments have dissolved the past, the subject, before it ever arrives. His break is in his aesthetic, its sonic texture and its syntactical entropy, which projects his poetics of the ungraspable present."
