Harvey Comics and their long-running BLACK CAT series was nothing if not flexible. After nearly 30 issues of Linda Turner as the heroine, the magazine switched over the a hard-core mystery/horror comic, with some of the grittiest stories in the business. But in February 1955, with the heat on from the Wertham book, and the rise in popularity of the western, Harvey brought Linda back for three issues of western and western-inspired tales before going back to complete the series with another mystery format. BLACK CAT WESTERN showcases the deft pen of long-time Black-Catter Lee Elias, reprinting western-themed stories from earlier issues (plus one original story). BLACK CAT WESTERN was Linda Turner/Black Cat's last hurrah during the Golden Age – and this is the first time all three Western issues have been collected!
