Although created by the great Jack Cole, this collection is undoubtedly the (also great) Dick Briefer's COMPLETE PIRATE PRINCE, because after the first story Briefer took over and created these adventures in his own distinct style. His stories are part adventure and part humor, with a wide assortment of semi-competent associates and of course the regular appearance of the damsel in distress or the femme fatale. The merry band of pirates preyed only on the unjust, making them heroes, if sometimes skirting the edge of the law. THE PIRATE PRINCE was an exciting early Golden Age feature in Silver Streak Comics (#7-21) and Daredevil Comics (#1, #12-32); his stories have never been collected before – a crime which only Gwandanaland / Midcentury ComicsTM has remedied!
