This is a book for people who want to know what it means to be English. I have approached the challenge through History, being careful all the time, to compare and contrast what is written with the rest of the world. Obviously in about 100 pages I have had to be selective, but a good teacher will be able to deal with this. There are a lot of loose ends which are deliberately left hanging.

À propos de Mike Stallard

As you can see I am a retired teacher. What you can't see is my experience over the past five years here in Eastern England as the tide of Eastern Europeans came in, flooded and then receded. Today we have a lot of permanent settlers who have children. These children know absolutely nothing about their country and they are often embarrassed to speak their mother's tongue. Apart from a very long hard to pronounce surname, you would think they were English. Hence the book. I have a good degree in History. I tried (and failed) to speak Polish. I have a lot of other qualifications and was a Vicar in the C of E until 1989. I am now a Catholic, living with my very patient wife who suggested I wrote this book to shut me up for a bit. My hobby is making Polish trains from Modelik, Poland.
