In a difficult year, when a global pandemic has changed the lives of all of us, some things become even more important to us. Producing a daily reflection based on the Scriptures given for each day in the Coptic Orthodox Lectionary has been one of these necessary and useful practices. These were first distributed to members of the congregations I serve through social media, but they have been collected together into this small volume so that they might have a lasting usefulness, as far as any of them contain anything of value. To read a portion of the Scriptures each day, and more importantly, to reflect on what God says to us through it, is a significant part of the Christian spiritual life. To commit ourselves to the habit of reading the Scripture prayerfully and reflectively each day is to allow God to speak words of encouragement, instruction and life to us. These daily reflections are offered in the hope that they continue to be of some small benefit to others, as they have been to me.
