Quas Primas

Latin-English Edition

ParPius XI

Habituellement imprimé en 3-5 jours ouvrés
In 1925, the world seemed bleak; in some ways, even bleaker than it does now. The First World War had torn Europe to shreds, the economy was broken, and fascism was on the rise with all its concomitant anti-Catholic bigotry; and though an uneasy coexistence with Mussolini had been arranged, the Third Reich was on the horizon. In this sorrowful time, a great pope saw the necessary truth: the world needs Christ the King. To support this need, Pope Pius XI wrote Quas Primas, establishing for the whole Church a new feast dedicated specifically to Christ in the aspect of His Kingship. The feast of Christ the King was to buoy the world in its dedication to the truth that Christ is the King of all men and of all societies. This need is even greater now than it was then. This original translation, with the authentic Latin text, is offered to the world in the hopes of further spreading this great message of Pius XI. Christus vincit! Christus regnat! Christus imperat!
