He wealthy, he has a young ward, and he fights crime....that's right, he's Batma----- I mean THE LYNX! Strong and agile, THE LYNX fights against racketeers and other criminals with the aid of his sidekick Blackie through 19 issues of Mystery men Comics. His was one of the first comics to use the “elaborate death trap” which became so common for other crimefighters, including Batma----- I mean, other crimefighters. Comic readers are sure to enjoy this exciting and colorful reprint from Retro Comic Reprints! The hinted-at relationship between THE LYNX and Batma--- that other crimefighter, is not merely coincidence. The story is that after Fox Feature was sued by DC because they claimed that THE MOTH was a rip-off of Batman, Fox simply told illustrator Jim Mooney to go ahead and make a Batman clone. They were sued again, and this time DC won a $2,000 judgment (per Brian Cronin, CBR.com). So any relationship between the two characters is, apparently, completely intended. This book was compiled with the best images currently available. That stated, these comics are over seventy years old. The best efforts have been made to make the pages as enjoyable as possible but not every panel is perfect and some allowances for the age of the books need to be considered when judging the overall contents. The stories here were created in a less enlightened time and there are some images that may offend modern readers.
