More than forty years working as a physicist in the navy laboratory system combined with an interest in history can lead to some unusual places. Add in the career progression from physicist to strategic planner, and executive and the need to research and write a dissertation and the result might be unique. In this case, it led to a focus on writing about naval and local history and leadership as a retirement avocation. This book is a collection of essays written in the last few years. Many have been previously published but others are presented for the first time.
