A Caribbean Family Third (Apprenticeship) is the third in the series, following A Caribbean Family (First) – The Kernel. So far, Joe’s era has been the main focus but that is due to so many events on the island happened during the period of his life. During the Apprenticeship, Joe’s sympathy lay with those ex-slaves trying to make sense of their situation and his reading ability certainly proved useful in that endeavour.
