No Rapture

Cantara Suhayar is a brilliant Muslim physicist from Cambridge caught in the political and religious turmoil of the ancient city of Damascus. An unexpected earthquake and the ever-present threat of nuclear war brings the young woman together with a sympathetic Sephardic rabbi from Syria and an American tourist. Their fears and outlooks on humanity are each challenged as competing powers vie for supremacy in their respective games and goals, leading to a startling and unexpected climax.
