Slade, a subterranean Mainframe operator, of the year 2325, discovers that there are other places to live after a notification of equipment mal-function. He is informed that colonies and space stations throughout the galaxy exist and have been inhabited for 300 years with people living in luxury. The populous teleports from place to place by scheduling their travels via the Galanet and with a device called a Teleportation Watch. Slade uses his access to the mainframe to obtain a TW illegally. Once obtained, Slade meets and causes the illness of the President of Earth’s sixteen-year-old daughter, Celeste.
This book’s entire concept is based on the actual technology that exists today, including the miniaturization of electronics, scheduling our time and travel via the Internet, and the use of medical technology that is networked today.
