For C.D.
You may have known what you WERE to me, but you never knew what all you MEANT.
We were quiet in our comfortableness with each other. It was just ok to enjoy riding around in City Park or the French Quarter; looking out over Lake Ponchartrain or just hanging at my apartment, drinking wine and listening to The Beatles, Pink Floyd, Moody Blues, whatever. Meeting friends for cocktails uptown off of St. Charles Avene in all the great pubs and lounges.
But something was burning inside and we were afraid of the fire. We knew we had Chemistry, but we were terrified of the spark!
So much left Unsaid. And now that you look down from Heaven, I wrote a book for you, to say all those things I should have said, had I been brave enough, while you were alive. All those heavy things I wanted to say, wondering what you might have said back. I’ll never know and that’s the raw pain I live with until I see you again. It is YOU, I’ve been told by seven different psychics, who will be the one to meet me at Heaven’s Gate. Then, C.D., I will not be afraid of the spark. I will never let you go again.
Some Soulmates get away.
