Alderley's Blueprint

Alderley would like to improve society. But he has his own problems right at home. ‘You should see a psychologist!’ says Avalon, his wife. ‘Or maybe, get a job!’ Or else, he could slip away to a little cabin in the woods, where the real adventure begins… Drawn out in a mysterious flood, Alderley soon finds himself being tried and tested at every turn. What an idea, indeed, to think of taking a break from life! Yet somehow, guided by kindly spirits, he succeeds in reaching the remote City of Sands, where he is destined to prove once and for all his worth. What fate is reserved for him there? At last gaining the necessary insight, he readily conceives the blueprint for social reform he had always envisaged. But has he absorbed the correct lessons from his experience? And whom, if anyone, might they help?
