Emmanuel Pinto was Grand Master of the Order of St. John for 33 years during which time Malta witnessed a lot of turmoil as well as huge developments. There was a great number of events as well as conspiracies and intrigues. In this book we come across two principal and unusual incidents when Maltese slaves rebelled against the owners of Turkish galleys and managed to bring the vessels to Malta.
