There is a difference between visiting a place and living there. Many believers have visited the presence of God — in a powerful service, a tearful altar call, a season of crisis that drove them to their knees. Fewer have learned to live there. This book was written for the second group, and for everyone who longs to become part of it.
I did not write Abiding in His Presence as a theory. Every chapter comes out of a pursuit — sometimes a wrestling — to know God not as an occasional visitor to my life, but as the atmosphere I live in. Scripture is clear that this was always the plan. From the Garden, where God walked with Adam in the cool of the day, to the Tabernacle, to the Temple, to the moment the veil was torn and the Spirit came to dwell within us, God has been moving toward one goal: nearness. Not a religion about Him. Nearness to Him.
This book is arranged to walk with you on that journey. Part One establishes why His presence was always the point. Part Two teaches the practical disciplines of abiding — prayer, the Word, worship, the fear of the Lord, silence. Part Three is honest about what quietly separates us from Him, because no one drifts from God's presence on purpose; we drift through neglect, pride, and distraction. Part Four describes the fruit that grows only in that nearness — holiness, love, joy, power, and a Voice you learn to recognize. Part Five is where it all becomes ministry: because the secret place is never meant to stay secret. It is meant to overflow.
Whether you are newly saved, leading a congregation, or a seasoned minister who has grown weary in the work, my prayer is that this book does not merely inform you but relocates you — from the outer court of occasional encounters into the Most Holy Place of continual fellowship. That is where the fruit is. That is where the power is. And that, beloved, is where He has been waiting for you all along.
