Investigating Digital Affordances and Materiality
Habituellement imprimé en 3-5 jours ouvrés
How does digital software shape contemporary form making? What are the affordances of the digital tools we use as artists and designers? What does materiality mean when it is mediated by the screen, for both makers and viewers?
Pondering these questions, students in the Introduction to Digital Imaging course at Tennessee Tech University were each given the same set of shapes and a random set of material properties as a prompt. They created a rich variety of visual responses, weaving in their unique conceptual interests and aesthetic sensibilities.
