After going through the most difficult period in his life during a course of two months in 1997, Antonio V. Wright displayed his resilient spirit by working the grief of his brother's murder and frustration of his own paralyzing car accident. He eventually joined a wheelchair basketball league and the coaching staff at his former high school, as well as championed community causes including anti-violence/drug-free campaigns and protection for the elderly and disabled. The founder of the Metro Area Community Empowerment Center Foundation, Inc., Mr. Wright also delivers lectures to students and adults to fulfill his mission to "empower the powerless, encourage the heart broken, and to strengthen weaken souls" around the country.
