After receiving his doctorate in Psychology in 1969, Dr. Art Hochberg became Psychology dept. head at St. Mary’s College, and taught at Notre Dame in South Bend, IN. Over the next nine years, he taught experientially-oriented psychology courses, travelling in Uganda, Ceylon, Israel, and Switzerland, among other countries. He then spent a year in a Zen Buddhist monastery and thirty-nine years studying with the Sufi Master Bawa Muhaiyaddeen. In the 70’s, Dr. Hochberg was Clinical Director of Drug & Alcohol Program at Fort Dix, NJ, Division Chairman of Social Services at Urbana College, OH, then a private practice at the Clymer Clinic in Quakertown, PA. In 1979, Dr. Hochberg served as Clinical Director of Fordham-Page Clinic, Radnor, PA. Currently, Dr. Hochberg continues to maintain his own private practice as a licensed psychologist and also serves as an intake psychologist at a Philadelphia inner city mental health clinic.
