November St. Michael

November St. Michael was born Antwuan Michael Flood in Newark, New Jersey, as an only child to a single mother. After relocating to Newport News, Virginia a vast number of experiences ushered in a bevy of unforgettable circumstances in life that fueled his imagination. His young mother was a student at the Hampton Institute majoring in Business while he was a toddler, setting up the conditions for him to be an inveterate reader. A foundation that has proved useful in later years segueing his interest into art, film, and music. Writing came about as a natural progression and a therapeutic outlet to document all he experienced internally as well as notating the idiosyncratic occurrences of life while living. He credits an array of influences for his material and from various genres of artistic expression. Today, he is ambitiously yet, humbly trying to join the ranks of great writers like Walter Dean Myers, Rosa Guy, Langston Hughes, and Emily Dickinson one poem at a time.
