Allan D. Wade grew up in the communities of Souder and Rockbridge, Missouri. He attended a one room school called Lower Brixey for eight years then rode a bus to Gainesville, Missouri for high school. After graduating, he went to Kansas City and worked at Hallmark Card Co. for about a year. In the summer of 1954, he worked in Kansas, Oklahoma, and Colorado before joining the Air Force in November 1954. He had a 32 year military career with most of the time as a pilot in the C-130 aircraft. He travelled extensively worldwide as a result of flying the C-130. In 2011, he began writing poems and has continued into 2020. He published some ebooks, but his first printed book is called, Original Poems By A. D. Wade. He has enough poems to publish a second or third book if he chooses to do so.
