Angelo Miramonti

Angelo Miramonti (Ph.D.) is a professor of Community Theatre at the Institute of Fine Arts in Cali, Colombia, a lecturer of Conflict Transformation at the University of Würzburg-Schweinfurt (Germany) and a Registered Drama Therapist in Italy. In 2018 he founded the “Arts for Reconciliation” research program, focusing on the use of arts to accompany dialogue and reconciliation among former combatants and victims of the Colombian armed conflict. He authored several articles on the use of arts for peacebuilding and reconciliation (translated in Spanish, Italian, French and Arabic). He coordinated rehabilitation programs for child soldiers in Uganda and Congo. Since 2014, he has been carrying out transcultural psychiatry research on healing and possession cults in Senegal. He holds a PhD in Economics, and three Master degrees in Philosophy, Development Studies and Cultural Anthropology. He trained in Theatre of the Oppressed, Theatre of Witness, Drama Therapy and Ritual Theatre.
