Jeff Adkins is an award winning science teacher from Antioch, California. The novel is based on his life growing up as a science geek with a romantic heart. He won the science fair with a perpetual motion machine design, taught himself trigonometry to learn to paint planets, read encyclopedias for fun and snuck out of bed at midnight as a child to watch reruns of Star Trek.
