John E. Tidball graduated in modern languages at the University of Manchester in 1963. Since retiring from teaching, he has pursued his interests in literature, music, and art, in particular the works of Charles Baudelaire. He has recently translated and published a dual language edition of Baudelaire's 'Les Fleurs du Mal', a bilingual edition of Baudelaire's sonnets, and an English-only edition of ‘The Flowers of Evil’. His work has been highly praised by scholars and poetry lovers, having sold more than 13,000 copies worldwide.
