In 2007 I published "The Civil War Canteen". This was followed by the first in-depth study on Gettysburg artifacts, "Battle of Gettysburg – The Relics, Artifacts & Souvenirs". Shortly after I published my first children’s book, "Children at the Battle of Gettysburg – Their Unforgettable Summer" - a second edition of the canteen book would be published in 2011. "Civil War Artillery – A Pictorial Introduction", published 2012, begins with the infancy of artillery during the American Revolution through the Civil War. “The Civil War Soldier – His Personal Items”, lets the reader see what the typical soldier carried with him throughout the war and in many cases brought home as cherished mementos. As with all my books, this one is also loaded with photographs of rare and interesting pieces. My latest book “The Civil War Canteen – Third Edition”. I started collecting Civil War artifacts many years ago and my first piece was a canteen, this started my life-long interest in them.
