Cree Rose

**Artist Statement: Cree Rose** As a woman who has learned to slow down due to chronic illness, I have found that creativity is not only a refuge but also a form of resistance—a way to reclaim agency over my mind and spirit. My art is born from the quiet moments of introspection, where words and colors become a language of their own, weaving together fantasy and philosophy in a way that invites others to escape, even if just for a moment, the weight of their own worries. Art, for me, is an act of persistence. It is a testament to the idea that transformation is always possible, no matter how late you start. I am living proof that one is never too old to begin something new—whether it’s picking up a paintbrush, learning to write, or allowing the mind to wander into realms of pure imagination. My work is an invitation to linger in those spaces where reality blurs and wonder takes over. Through my writing and visual art, I explore themes of resilience, the power of storytelling, and the beauty of seeing the world through a lens of curiosity. Every brushstroke, every poem, every whimsical landscape is a reminder that healing and joy can be found in the act of creation itself. If my work can offer even a flicker of solace to someone else who feels stuck or unseen, then I have done my job. To create is to live—unbound, unapologetically, and in full color.
