Dawn K. Johnson
About Dawn K. Johnson Dawn K. Johnson writes from experience, not distance. Coming from an upper-middle-class family, nothing prepared her for incarceration. Yet, she spent over twelve years inside the Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ) system—navigating county jail and multiple units, including Hobby, Plane State, San Saba, Lane Murray, Marlin, and Coleman. Today, Dawn is a consultant, author, and publisher dedicating her life to passing on the tools, grace, and strategies needed to survive and thrive during incarceration. Through her Survival Guide to Prison book, she helps individuals protect their cases, build parole packets, and rebuild their lives brick by brick. Pass It On Publishing & Ministry Driven by faith and the promise of Isaiah 43:19 ("I will make a way in the wilderness"), Dawn founded Pass It On Publishing and Ministry to remind incarcerated individuals that God still holds their purpose. To pass this grace forward, 100% of profits from every planner and calendar sale goes directly back into supporting inside residents with books, postage, commissary, and re-entry resources. Dawn reads every letter. Keep your head up, your hands clean, and your eyes on the One waiting on the other side of the gate.
