Dr. Eric Alcuezar Fernandez pursued a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Arts from Ateneo de Davao University, followed by a Master of Development Communication and a Doctor of Communication from the University of the Philippines Open University (UPOU). Additionally, he completed 33 academic units, except for a thesis, in the University of the Philippines Diliman, earning a Master of Arts in Media Studies major in TV and Radio Broadcasting. Dr. Fernandez has been an English as a Foreign Language (EFL) teacher since December 2000, having taught EFL to Korean nationals in the Philippines for about a decade. Since 2010, he has been serving as an English for Specific Purpose (ESP) in Automobile Industry instructor for future Saudi technicians of the Japanese Automobile Distributors in the Kingdom (JADIK) at the Saudi Japanese Automobile High Institute in Jeddah, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Also, he has been an ESP in Caregiving and International English Language Test System (IELTS) coach at the Universal Skills Development Institute (USDI) and Integrated Caregiver and Related Expertise (iCARE) Academy in Jeddah, K.S.A. To further his education and professional qualifications, Dr. Fernandez completed a Professional Teaching Certification (PTC) at the UPOU and applied for the Special Professional Licensure Board Examination (SPLBE) for teachers, which he took in September 2016, scoring the fourth highest mark among all candidates.
