Ray grew up on a beef cattle farm on the East Coast of Australia. A keen observer with a down-to-earth approach, he writes practical guides garnered from spending time with good friends and family. He runs The Wood Agency, a creative co-operative on the Southern Tablelands of Australia, where he creates collage from found materials, writes, bakes and grows vegies.
