À propos de
Nawfal Johnson Nur
Author Bio A self‑taught photographer from Lincoln, Nebraska, now living in Penang, Nawfal Johnson has spent fifty years behind the camera. Beginning at the age of eleven, he developed a keen eye for what makes a compelling image, yet he continues to explore subjects in new ways, always learning and experimenting. He believes that the quality and quantity of light form the foundation of every photograph. While a camera is necessary to capture the image, he embraces the philosophy that “the best camera is the one with you.” Living with Ankylosing Spondylitis since the age of fifteen has shaped his approach to photography, leading him to favor lighter DSLRs and minimal gear. Even so, he never compromises when designing an image or materializing a scene from his mind’s eye. Nawfal Johnson brings his visual skills into his writing, applying the same discipline of planning and design to the page. He has published nonfiction works including photography folios, magazine editorials, and historical research publications. In 2026, writing under his pseudonym A. N. Nur, he debuted his first work of fiction, A DAY WITH A DEAD MAN, marking a new chapter in his creative journey.
