Hi! I was born in Germany in 1931 and grew up during Hitler's insane war. This proved to be a bit of a drag with all the air-raids we had to endure. That lunatic sure caused a lot of suffering. In 1945 I started my apprenticeship as an industrial electrician and in due time received my ticket. Jobs were hard to get and eventually I decided to look for greener pastures in Canada. This turned out the best decision I ever made and I wouldn't want to live in any other country. I worked myself across the country and finally settled on Vancouver Island. There I met this cute little redhead and eight weeks later we got married. Eventually we bought five acres, developed a small homestead, built a sawmill (Bellsaw) and raised two girls and one boy. We also built a small cabin on the shores of Lake Cowichan. I worked in a local sawmill as an electrician till 1981 when our jobs were terminated. We managed quite nicely with our gardens and a small pension. We just have to limit our desires.
