Nettie Leeflang, who resides in the beautiful Cowichan Valley, finds inspiration in the vibrant people and rich history of Vancouver Island. Originally from the Netherlands, Nettie and her family of six made Canada their home in 2009. In 2018, she published her debut novel, Hitchhiker, with De Banier, a Christian publisher in the Netherlands, and it was released in 2019. Encouraged by friends on Vancouver Island, she translated Hitchhiker into English. The English edition was completed in 2024. Her latest Dutch novel, Elsa, is since October 2024 in the Dutch bookstores. In early 2025, Nettie translated this new work into English, which is for sale online and in bookstores on Vancouver Island.
