Who am I? I am the sum of coffee grounds and ice cream, fourth grade gymnastics and college martial arts, before-dawn surfing and after-dark billiards, Netherlandic black metal and Hans Zimmer movie scores. I am a product of the K-12 system, community and state college, and every curve that life has thrown at me. My mother tells me I am wonderful, my father tells me I am a joy, my students tell me I am the coolest teacher ever, my friends tell me I am things that I will not repeat in polite company. My doctor tells me I’m healthy, my brother tells me I’m sick, and my MMA instructor tells me I’m a nut. A conglomeration of comedy and drama, love and loss, insight and inquiry is who I am. I am a wonderer, a dreamer, a genius. I am the physical housing of the finest imagination money can’t buy. I am a wellspring of ideas and a vault of experience. I am all this and yet every day I discover myself again. I am a full circle that continues to grow.
