PhD (Queen Mary, London University), MRes ( UCL, London University), MSc (King's College, London University), BSc Hons (First) (The Open University). All biology / chemistry / organic chemistry. PhD in transmissible spongiform encephalopathies (copper binding to the cellular isoform of the prion protein studied by various forms of spectroscopy). Hobbies include electronic music and amateur (ham) radio. Previous existence was as an electronic engineer, retrained in later life in the world of biochemistry. Dyslexic, I started my first degree aged 32 having left school unqualified. Self-taught in electronics, I have worked professionally fault-finding at component level.
