‘Oxfordshire Befriending for Life’ is a service offering friendship and help to people living with a life-limiting illness. It also offers information, support and advice for their families, carers and loved ones and is provided completely free of charge. Dealing with a life-limiting illness and supporting a loved one who is very ill can be among the greatest challenges we face – OxBEL befrienders offer friendship without fear and with openness and honesty. The fully trained volunteer befrienders are supported by a skilled, experienced, and professional team of coordinators which supports a very robust and holistic approach to this difficult area of work. The short stories and poems in this book have been given by the authors to help OxBEL continue that work. All proceeds from the book, once printing costs have been paid, go to OxBEL.
