The Woodsman

George Shepherd lives in the sprawling woods in the Vermont countryside. He has lived there for the past twenty years. George relies on the environment for his sustenance and daily survival. Along with his dog Oswald, he has accepted a solitary life where he must forage and fend for himself. But when a negro runaway happens to run into George, a curious bond forms. Should he harbor the runaway or guide him to safety. A rich tale emerges as George is forced to face his own fears and isolation and be a savior for a desperate runaway. The Woodsman is a telling story about life in the wild and the trials of survival and courage.
