The war on poverty has been silent since the last fifty-eighty presidential administrations after President Lyndon B. Johnson initiated it during his State of the Union Address on January 8, 1964. The struggle of 37.9 million people living in poverty-stricken communities in the United States continues with no end in sight. This book highlights the need for social welfare reform, education, healthcare, crime, and other issues within our poverty-stricken communities. I am aware of this because I grew up in poverty, joined the military to escape poverty, and after retiring, almost returned to it due to misfortunes in my life. I know it is accurate. This book is relatable to anyone who can’t escape the stranglehold of poverty because of our current political leadership and feels powerless to make a change. I hope anyone reading this book will realize that their vote makes a difference and should invoke fear in politicians who have forgotten how to be our public servants but not to foreign countries that receive our tax-paying funds in the name of Foreign Aid!ANAV passionately advocates for political transformation, encouraging voters to elect leaders committed to visiting impoverished communities regularly and advocating for substantial reforms in social welfare programs. The book paints a vivid picture of the dire consequences of neglecting the poor, linking it to increased criminal behavior and deteriorating living conditions. "The Invisible America" serves as a powerful call to action, urging Americans to invest in their future by striving to eliminate poverty and uplift the most vulnerable citizens. Through a blend of thorough research and heartfelt appeal, ANAV underscores the urgent need for a renewed commitment to the War on Poverty.
