UNDERSTANDING GOD

Understanding God is a Christian teaching book framed as a series of conversations between Charlie and Lukas, using simple dialogue and Bible passages to explain major doctrines and questions of faith. It begins with the Trinity, showing God as one God in three persons—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—and explains how each person of the Trinity works together in creation, salvation, and guidance. From there, the book moves into the problem of sin: what sin is, how it entered the world through Adam and Eve, why it affects all people, and how it creates separation from God. It then presents Jesus as God’s rescue plan—the Gospel story of Christ’s life, death, resurrection, and offer of eternal life to anyone who believes. The next chapters ask practical salvation questions, especially how a person enters heaven and what happens after accepting Jesus. The book teaches that heaven cannot be earned by good deeds, but is received through grace, mercy, and faith in Christ. It also explains that genuine faith should lead to a changed heart, growing obedience, compassion, and a lifelong journey of becoming more like Christ.
