Multi-Employer Safety Citation Policy

If you are a General Contractor, you are responsible for the safety performance of your subcontractors and their subcontractors - so says the Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA). In fact, the "controlling contractor" may be cited for the same hazard(s) for which the subcontractor is cited. This booklet explains the differences between creating contractors, exposing contractors, correcting contractors and controlling contractors. All contractors should be aware of their responsibilities under the Multi-Employer Worksite Policy.
