D.R. Lloyd lived through a childhood of abuse, being tossed from stepmother to stepmother, and home to home while he traveled the country with his military father. Finally at the tender age of 10 he was sent to live at a Salvation Army children's home because he didn't get along with his newest stepmother and her son.
