DAVID THE SHEPHERD KING

This book follows the life of David son of Jesse. It begins with his youth as a shepherd, sees him rising to fame as a soldier, fleeing from King Saul with many near escapes, and eventually reigning as king over Israel. His many trials and setbacks shaped a character that shines out in his writings, the Psalms. He leaves us examples, good and bad, to consider as we serve the same God in the twenty first century.
