Joe Stern is a gifted young composer who supplements his income by playing at a piano bar while working on his doctorate. Having been unlucky in love once, he's not looking for a relationship when handsome Tom Hamilton comes into the bar one night. Their attraction to each other is instantaneous, but the more Joe finds himself drawn to Tom, the more elusive Tom gets. When Joe discovers the secret Tom is hiding, he begins to wonder if his bad luck has struck again.
