Being a DAD, such a small word for such a big job. When my first child was born. I was young and inexperienced … come to think of it, all first dads are. No baby is issued with an owner’s manual. I think if we knew the future and what it has in store, we will probably choose not to have children at all. I cannot imagine my life any other way. The joy of looking in awe at the new life God created, and entrusted in your hands for nurturing, caring, feeding and, teaching. Watching their first steps, competing for hearing ‘dad’ before ‘mom’ or buying a rugby ball for your 3 month old baby is all part of the fun! Less fun is the pajama drill at night, running to the doctor with teething problems, chicken pocks, mumps flu and I’m sure you can add to this list. All these things are necessary to mold them into strong healthy children and eventually young adults who will have children of their own.
