Deadlines and Lively Rhymes

After receiving a diagnosis of ALS on June 5, 2000, Gary Spradling, a prolific and talented artist, began writing poetry. In Dead lines and lively Rhymes, his second book of poetry, he uses humor and vivid description to share his reflections on life and death, family, art, travel and his disease. Each poem is made more poignant by the line drawings he sketched months before the disease paralyzed his hands.
