FULL COLOR. 1st Edition. 32 pages. Reappraisal of the Michelson - Morley "Ether drift" experiment, taking apparatus geometry into account, leads to a new view of contraction theory. It is shown that if velocity-related contraction is taken literally, rather than as a relativistic concept, then interference should have been detected when the Michelson - Morley apparatus was rotated. Because interference has never been detected in this experiment it is concluded that there is neither Ether drift, nor any actual velocity-related contraction. Velocity-related contraction is therefore a purely relativistic concept. The null results from the experiment also mean that electromagnetic radiation travels direct from source to target (observer), in their common reference frame, irrespective of frame speed or orientation. A priori, alternative approaches to em radiation not invoking Special Relativity are possible within and between frames of reference.
