Nara was established in 710 as the second permanent capital of Japan. Nara was the capital for 74 years, lending its name to the period in Japanese history lasted from 710 to 794. It was designated as UNESCO site in 1998. World Heritage in Nara comprises five Buddhist temples, one Shinto shrine, Imperial Palace and primeval forest. The book is lavishly illustrated by photos mainly shot by the author. It should be interesting for travelers, those who love Japanese history, culture and architecture and for everybody who wants to know more about our diverse world.
